Mission Statement
We train undergraduate and graduate students in the history, literature, material culture and language of Armenia, the Armenian diaspora, and the Caucasus. The Department also serves as a focal point for engagement with the Armenian diaspora in Central Europe by cultivating partnerships with institutions in Armenia, Europe and the Americas.
Vision Statement
Drawing on European and North American approaches, the Department innovates and leads in the European Armenian academic community. It produces graduates who can contextualize the Armenian experience within broader global, comparative, and theoretical frameworks to reconceptualize Armenia’s role in the global community and historical narratives.
